We are the Black Advocacy Coalition a black-led non-profit organization.

 

We are committed to empowering the Black community and advancing racial justice, equal and equitable opportunity, economic and socio-cultural development for all Black People in Canadas North.

ABOUT US

OUR MISSION

End all forms of racism, racial injustices, and barriers that disadvantage Black people and perpetuate inequities, specifically within law enforcement, justice, healthcare, housing, education, research and media.

Work actively with Indigenous organizations and other allies to promote equity. 

Promote and amplify the impact of Black individuals, businesses, and organizations established in northern Canada. 

Advocate for inclusion of spaces and opportunities for Black voices and perspectives at all levels of decision making in public and private sectors. 

Demand accountability and transparency from individuals in positions of power and leadership at the  corporate and government levels.

Empower black individuals to access and fully participate in community

The Black Advocacy Coalition operates in Sǫ̀mba K'è on Chief Drygeese Territory in Treaty 8, the traditional home of the Yellowknives Dene and the North Slave Métis, also known as Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
